From swimming to water games: discover fun, cooling activities that help your Rottweiler burn energy during hot days.
Summer calls for creativity. When it's too warm for long walks or intense sports, there are plenty of other ways to keep your Rottweiler physically and mentally engaged.
Swimming is ideal for Rottweilers. The water supports the body, relieving joints while still allowing good movement. Start in shallow water and let your dog get used to it at their own pace. Not every Rottweiler is immediately enthusiastic.
Water games in the garden are a great solution. A sprinkler, a small paddling pool or even a frozen toy in water — it stimulates and cools at the same time.
Scent games indoors or in the shade. Hide treats and let your dog search. This burns energy without exertion in the heat. A snuffle mat or a stuffed Kong with frozen yoghurt also works wonders.
Consider mental challenges too. Teach new tricks, work on obedience exercises or do a puzzle game. A tired Rottweiler is a happy Rottweiler — even if it all happens from the shade.
