How to Trim a Rottweiler Puppy's Black Nails
Rottweiler nails are usually dark, so the blood vessel and nerve inside—the quick—can be difficult to see. That makes small, regular trims and good handling skills more important than trying to remove a large amount at once.
There is no universal weekly schedule. Ground surface, activity, nail growth and anatomy all affect how quickly nails wear. Check them every week and trim or grind only what is needed. Your veterinarian or groomer can demonstrate the correct length on your own puppy.
