Plenty of stories circulate about feeding large breeds. We separate fact from fiction based on the latest insights.

Nutrition for large breeds is a topic full of opinions and little consensus. What does the science actually say?

Myth: large-breed puppies should grow as quickly as possible. The opposite is true. Growing too fast raises the risk of joint problems.

Myth: raw feeding is always better. Raw feeding is possible, but it requires knowledge. An unbalanced BARF diet can actually cause deficiencies.

Myth: grain is bad. For most dogs grain is perfectly digestible. Grain-free is only necessary in cases of proven intolerance.

Fact: a Rottweiler benefits from food with moderate protein, the right calcium-phosphorus ratio and enough omega-3 fatty acids.
