How to Socialise a Rottweiler Puppy

The first sixteen weeks of a puppy's life are crucial. During this period your Rottweiler lays the foundation for how he experiences the world — for the rest of his life.

Start small and positive. Let your puppy feel different surfaces, hear different sounds and meet different people. Never force; let him take his own time to get used to things.

Puppy class is not a luxury but a necessity. A good class teaches your puppy how to interact with other dogs and gives you the tools to train consistently.

Don't forget the city. Trams, cyclists, busy squares — a Rottweiler who only knows the forest will later startle more easily in the city. Build those experiences up calmly.

Reward calm behaviour. A puppy who finds everything exciting learns through your calmness that the world is safe. Confidence is built with patience, not pressure.
