Start somewhere quiet.
Avoid using your puppy's name repeatedly when:
Your puppy's name should remain valuable.
Once your puppy reliably looks toward you after hearing their name, begin using that attention as the first step toward recall. Next, teach your Rottweiler puppy to come when called.
Many puppies begin recognizing a consistently reinforced name quickly, but reliability around distractions takes continued practice.
Dogs can learn new name cues. Build the new name through the same positive association process.
Use the name when you need attention, rather than turning it into meaningless background noise.
