Healthy Nutrition
A great adult diet is boringly consistent: quality ingredients, correct portions, fresh water, and small adjustments as your Rottweiler ages.

Pick a proven food
Choose brands that employ a full-time veterinary nutritionist, run feeding trials and publish full nutrient analysis. Reputation matters more than marketing.
Portions and body condition
Aim for a body condition score of 4–5/9. Waist visible from above, ribs easy to feel. Weigh your dog monthly and adjust portions by 10% at a time.
Supplements — only if needed
A complete kibble or wet food generally covers all nutrients. Omega-3 fish oil, glucosamine and probiotics can be useful, but discuss with your vet before adding anything long term.
Adjust as your dog ages
From about 7 years, look at senior formulas or reduce calories by 10–20%. Softer kibble, joint support and easily digestible protein become more important with age.
