Rottweilers are a large, slow-growing breed. The right food supports strong bones and lean muscle without pushing growth too fast.

Choose a large-breed puppy formula

Look for a food labelled for large-breed puppies with controlled calcium (around 1.0–1.4%) and a moderate calorie density. This helps prevent joint problems later in life.

How much and how often

8–12 weeks: 4 meals per day. 3–6 months: 3 meals per day. 6+ months: 2 meals per day. Follow the food's guideline and adjust to keep your puppy lean — you should feel ribs easily.

Fresh water always

A large stainless-steel bowl, refilled daily. Especially important after play, walks and warm weather.

Go slow with treats

Treats should be no more than 10% of daily calories. Use pieces of the daily kibble for training whenever possible.
